New Project: Girvan Bandstand O’DonnellBrown have been appointed by Adventure Centre for Education (ACE) to restore the Girvan Bandstand. Built in 1907 on the edge of Stair Park, the bandstand was originally built as a tea kiosk serving locals and visitors, as well as hosting seaside entertainers. Later used by community groups, it has been vacant since the 1990s and has sadly fallen into disrepair. In Spring 2023, ACE formally bid to buy the bandstand from South Ayrshire Council, bringing the building into community ownership. We are looking forward to working with ACE to realise their ambitious plans to fully refurbish the Bandstand as a cultural space that champions local produce and benefits the community as widely as possible. Alongside the Bandstand, we are also progressing proposals for the McKechnie Institute and Stumpy Tower which will move to RIBA Stage 4 in early 2026. #odonnellbrown #odonnellbrownarchitects #girvan #architecture #conservation
